kitesurfing: Sivash - Sivash

Smooth water is attractive, but Sivash is a whole system of bays, not a single launch point.

About the spot

Sivash has water areas that are used for the first steps and training. The landscape here is almost graphic: low shore, water and sky. But behind this simple view hides the features of the bottom, salinity and entrance. You can’t choose a place by one photo or the name of the bay. This article identifies the region; the specific point of the author’s personal kitesurfing has yet to be clarified.

What to pay attention to

Never jump where the depth is unknown. Ask the local school about access, the bottom and permitted riding areas.

How to plan the road

First, select a specific shore and station, then build a car route.

Before paying, check with the receiving team the place of study and the nearest comfortable accommodation. “Hotel by the sea” and “hotel by the kite zone” do not always mean the same thing.

Questions before travel

How to choose the time of the trip?

According to the local forecast - a guide for planning. Before paying, confirm the season at the local school and check the forecast for travel dates.

What to ask the school before booking?

Where the lessons are held, what the size of the group is, whether the equipment is included, what language is taught and how the rescue on the water is organized.
