About the spot
Southern Fuerteventura covers the south of the island, the district of Sotavento and Risco del Paso. Here the landscape is built of light sand, ocean and a long lagoon that fills at suitable tides. Inland water and the open ocean give different conditions; before traveling, choose not just a beautiful date in the calendar, but the days of filling the lagoon. There are several schools in the south, including ION CLUB Risco del Paso.
What to pay attention to
Check the tide table and water depth. Wind at Risco del Paso can be offshore: confirm the safe area and rescue. Shallow water beside the beach does not make the ocean safe.
The lagoon lives on the tides
To see the lagoon full, check the calendar for specific days. It doesn't stay the same every morning: the tide changes both the size of the water area and the depth. For water start and training in shallow water conditions need to be assessed on the spot, and for jumping requires sufficient depth.

ION CLUB and South Schools
ION CLUB Risco del Paso offers kite lessons; according to published information, kite rental is available to independent riders and is issued on site. Before arriving, specify the size, rescue and working conditions for the selected day. On the website of the center, March-November is indicated as the preferred period, and the work of the center is all year round.
In the district of Sotavento there is a center René Egli: references to both teams are in the list of schools. Do not transfer the rules and conditions of one station to the whole long beach.

How to plan the road
From Fuerteventura Airport, the road goes south towards Costa Calma and Morro Jable. Choose accommodation relative to Sotavento and your station, and coordinate the transfer in advance. A car is convenient for a trip between the southern beaches.
Before paying, check with the receiving team the place of study and the nearest comfortable accommodation. “Hotel by the sea” and “hotel by the kite zone” do not always mean the same thing.
