Lagoon or ocean: which kite spot to choose

The water determines the trip no less than the wind. Choose a task first, then a beautiful beach.

For the first exits

A school with a clear learning area and accompaniment is more important than a loud spot name. On level water, it is easier to focus on the control of the kite and board. A too small area can be dangerous if you fall: ask the instructor to explain the depth and boundaries.

For progress

If the goal is transitions and new elements, look for enough space and depth. The lagoons of Guazhiru and Dakhla are often chosen for such a trip, but the tides, shore and loading of the water area differ. Please specify the conditions of a particular station.

For the wave

Tarifa, Barbados and Mauritius’ seaside areas offer a different nature of kitesurfing. A confident return to the shore, working with the surf and understanding the currents become part of the task. The outer reef of Le Morne is not an extension of the learning lagoon for the beginner.

Offshore wind

Even water with wind from the shore can look very comfortable. Bonaire and Coche are a good example of why you should discuss rescue with beauty. Without confirmed support in the pressurized wind, you should not go out.
